Hameln / Nuremberg, Germany – At the SPS Smart Production Solutions exhibition in Nuremberg, Lenze, a leading global automation specialist, officially unveiled its brand-new compact IE5 and IE7 high-efficiency motor drive systems. The innovative solution supports sensorless precise operation, combining high energy efficiency, easy operation and ultra-compact structure to set a new benchmark for modern industrial drive technology.
The complete drive portfolio consists of m550/m650 permanent magnet synchronous motors, g500 gearboxes and next-generation i550/i650 frequency inverters. It is one of the world’s most user-friendly synchronous motor solutions, delivering the simple operation of conventional asynchronous motors with superior synchronous motor performance.
Thanks to advanced permanent magnet design, the new motors reach premium IE5 and IE7 energy efficiency levels. Compared with traditional IE2 and IE3 motors, energy losses are reduced by up to 60%, helping manufacturers cut power consumption and lower carbon emissions for sustainable production.
Klaus Dierkes, Product Manager for Mechatronics at Lenze, stated that reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint remains the core demand for industrial customers worldwide. The new m550 and m650 motor series minimize energy loss while providing high overload capacity and sensorless control, allowing engineers to select compact, cost-effective drive solutions without over-sizing.
Field tests have been completed in intralogistics, packaging machinery and textile industries with highly positive customer feedback. Meanwhile, Lenze provides the free System Designer online tool for fast drive selection, energy consumption simulation and project configuration, greatly accelerating engineering design and on-site commissioning.
