Hamelin, Germany – July 10, 2025 – Global drive and automation specialist Lenze has officially launched the i650 motec, the next-generation decentralized frequency inverter designed for smart factory and high-efficiency machine applications. Building on the success of the i550 motec, the new i650 motec integrates intelligent logic, positioning functions, and scalable safety into a compact, motor-mounted unit—transforming the inverter from a simple drive component into a standalone intelligent drive system.
The i650 motec is engineered for decentralized automation, eliminating the need for central PLCs and reducing control cabinet space, wiring costs, and installation time. It pairs seamlessly with Lenze’s high-efficiency m550/m650 permanent magnet motors and g500 gearboxes, supporting IE5/IE7 ultra-high efficiency levels and delivering up to 30% energy savings compared to conventional drive systems.
“The i650 motec is a game-changer for machine builders," said Martin Ehlich, Mechatronics Expert at Lenze. “It combines efficiency, intelligence, and simplicity in one unit—helping customers build smaller, smarter, and more sustainable machines."
The i650 motec is now available globally, with its China debut scheduled for CeMAT Asia 2025 (October 28–31, Shanghai). Lenze also provides the free EASY System Designer tool for fast drive sizing, energy simulation, and project configuration.
