The KCD2-SOT-EX2 is a 2-channel intrinsic safety switch amplifier & frequency signal conditioner manufactured by Pepperl+Fuchs, specially designed for explosive hazardous industrial zones. It receives digital frequency signals from NAMUR proximity sensors or dry contact switches installed in Zone 0/1/2 dangerous field areas, provides complete galvanic isolation, converts weak hazardous-side frequency switching signals into stable passive transistor frequency outputs for safe-area PLC, frequency converter and control cabinets. Built-in Line Fault Detection (LFD) monitors field cable breakage & short circuit in real time, transmits fault alarm signals to upper control system. With reversible signal logic, SIL2 functional safety certification and ultra-narrow DIN rail housing, it isolates hazardous and safe circuits to eliminate explosion risks while ensuring high-speed frequency signal transmission, widely used for explosion-proof process automation signal matching.
